Redo your floors for the holidays

It’s a fancy word that means putting off something until tomorrow. Unfortunately for many of us, tomorrow never comes. As Annie sings, “It’s always a day away.”

With the approach of the holiday season, we can suddenly find ourselves with a huge to-do list and a very short runway.  After a torrent of work, the house always looks fine, just in time to put the turkey in the oven for Thanksgiving. Then, invariably, you look down and notice the floors, which look as if they’ve been the victim of that word, procrastination, for years.

IMG_4322But, there is still time! Maybe this year you make your “new year’s resolution” before the end of the year. Maybe this is the year you resolve to spruce up the floors and treat yourself, your family and all of your impending guests to a brand new living space.

By calling today for a free estimate, we will come to your home, discuss all of the options available, make all the measurements necessary to price the job and setup a time to get it done. We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround and attention to detail. Our biggest source of new customers comes from the very customers we have already served. Word-of-mouth is as valuable to us as access to a gold vault at Gringott’s! We treat every customer the same way — like gold.

Hardwood Floor Care Guide

Hardwood Floor Care Guide

Keeping your hardwood floors looking beautiful is easier than you think. Today’s hardwood floors can be cared for with minimal effort, and in most cases, a little preventive maintenance will keep your floors looking beautiful for years to come.

What To Do

  • Vacuum or sweep floor regularly.
  • General cleaning once every week is recommended.
  • Remove spills promptly using a mop or dry cloth.
  • Place mats at exterior doors to trap sand and dirt. Use area rugs in high traffic pathways.
  • Use protective pads or caps on furniture legs.

What Not To Do

  • Don’t let sand and dirt or grit build up. They can act like sandpaper and actually abrade and dull your floor finish.
  • Don’t damp mop hardwood floors. Too much water can cause the floor to swell or warp.
  • Don’t let your pets’ claws go untrimmed. Proper claw trimming helps avoid scratches and gouges.
  • You should avoid walking on your floors with cleats or high heels. These can dent your floor and scratch the finish.
